Urgent task of the modern pharmaceutical industry is the development of innovative dosage forms and delivery of active ingredients . One of these forms is the drug film. The list of vaginal and rectal films include: Antitsistovaginit (Estriol, Metiluratsil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E), Antimenopauza (Tibolone) Piobakteriofag polyvalent, Bifidumbacterin, Diclofenac Potassium iodide, Clotrimazole, Lactobacterin, Malavit-P, a wide range films with antibiotics, hormones, etc. As the film-forming matrix may be used polymers of animal origin (collagen, gelatin, elastin, chitosan), plant (alginates, starches), microbial (agar-agar, dextrin), semisynthetic (methylcellulose derivatives), synthetic (polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinyl alcohol, polietlenoksidy polyacrylamides). Professor V.A. Polyakova notes, for example, that in the treatment of atrophic vaginitis when any traumatic manipulation strictly contraindicated preferred swelling, soft gelatin films. Benefits of medicinal gelatin films: 1. Reduced single and course dose drugs (average of 10), while maintaining a therapeutic effect. 2. Exclusion or significant weakening of side effects 3. Rapid achievement of prolonged and constant maintenance of therapeutic drug concentrations in the area of pathology 4. Reducing the number of devices in connection with the drug duration of action 5. Benefits medicinal films allow their use for the treatment of a variety of pathologies, including in gynecological practice. We consider it appropriate to study and development of vaginal films for the treatment and prevention of gynecological diseases, such as vaginitis, colpites, candidiasis, erosion, etc.
