Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to choose the most appropriate cream composition containing Salvia roots extract which was obtained by innovate method according to organoleptic control and release data. MATERIALS AND METHODS Following materials were used in this study: Salvia root-s extract which was obtained in VILAR laboratory; ethyl alcohol 96 %, polawax, white paraffin, solid fat type A, Cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, Lanett SX, Polysorbate 80, sorbitan monostearate, poloxamer p 188, poloxamer p 407, Hippophae oil, oil solution of tocopherol and retinol; glycerine; medium-chain triglycerides, purified water. The choice of the most appropriate cream compositions was realized according to organoleptic analysis and spectrophotometry estimation method for detecting of active ingredient presence in combination with excipients. For realizing of the analyses we used Cery 100 scan spectrophotometry. EXPERIMENTS Experimental samples were worked out with different excipients for further explore. Some creams with optimal absorption characteristics were found by organoleptic analysis - creams contained polawax, poloxamer p 188 and different oils. Spectral data demonstrated the absence of release or detecting impossibility in the samples which contained tocopherol and retinol. Analysis resulted in the find the most appropriate combination: there were polawax, the solution of poloxamer p 188 20 % as a emulsifier and Hippophae oil, medium-chain triglycerides, glycerin in different ratio which provided the presence of peaks which were corresponded with active ingredient release. CONCLUSIONS Preliminary choice of optimal topical cream compositions containing Salvia roots extract which was obtained by innovate method was carried out according to organoleptic control and release data. The appropriate combinations contained polawax, the solution of poloxamer p 188 20 % as a emulsifier and Hippophae oil, medium-chain triglycerides, glycerin in different ratio.
