Abstract:
Currently, one of the important directions of science researches is the development of drugs that increase the resilience of the human body to extreme factors of modern production and the environment. In this connection, interest in the using of ginseng (Panax Ginseng C. A. May) as a tonic and restorative drug is increasing [1]. The most promising method to solve the problem of insufficient raw material base for the production of medicinal ginseng phytopreparations - culturing isolated cells on artificial media. [2] The aim of the present research was to study the adaptogenic activity of 30% aqueous alcohol extract obtained from dry suspension culture of ginseng, for compliance with the activity of extract obtained from roots of intact plants. The study was carried out jointly with the staff of the laboratory of pharmacology of All-Russian Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. Materials and methods. Objects of research: 30 % tincture of the roots of ginseng (standard) and 30 % tincture of dry ginseng suspension culture derived from callus culture of strain Pa.g (B) 05 Aromatic Plants. For detection in samples of adaptogenic activity in vitro the original specific bioassay systems based on enzymes catalase and glutathione reductase were used [3]. Experimental part: 30 % tincture of ginseng roots (standard) activates the glutathione reductase reaction for 19 % and inhibits the catalase reaction in vitro by 20 % compared with the control. 30 % tincture from dry suspension cultures of ginseng activates glutathione reductase reaction by 17.6 % and the catalase reaction inhibits by 8 % as compared with the control. Thus, based on these data, we can conclude that 30 % tincture of dry suspension culture ginseng has adaptogenic activity comparable with the activity of standard and can be used as an alternative source of the raw material base of bioactive substances.
