The Investigation of Components in Smoking Blends Containing Synthetic Cannabinoids RCS-4, JWH-250, CP 47,497-C8

Abstract:
Nowadays the smoking mixtures, called «spice» gained much popularity. Usually they contains the plant substrate and synthetic cannabinoids which has been put on it. The task of classification of smoking blends to a single mass requires identification of the "chemical" component, as well as identification of the plant substrate. The task is to develop the single method of the detection and identification of components of smoking mixtures containing cannabinoids RCS-4, JWH-250 and CP 47,497-C8 in forensic facilities. The article describes the use of chromatographic methods of TLC, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in the developed approach and also light-optical microscopy and phytochemical reactions to determine the composition of plant components of expert models. As a result we have developed the methodological approach of study smoking mixtures for use in expert practice. This approach should apply in cases where it is necessary to establish the composition of plant matter, which is made by a smoking blends, and be sure to apply in cases where it is necessary to establish that different patterns of smoking mixtures for the initial single mass.
