Abstract:
The quantitative determination the total o-diphenols in the herb of Lycopus europaeus L., collected in the Moscow region at the phases of vegetation (09.06.2010), buds formation and flowering (14.07.2010), and fruiting (02.09.2010) were carried out in order to find out the optimal time of the plant material harvesting. The plant material with the brown leaves was also collected (02.09.2010). The UV-differential spectrophotometry, with AlCl3 reagent as the complexant with o-diphenols was used. Rosmarinic acid was used as standart. The UV spectrum of the complex of Rosmarinic acid with AlCl3 has λmax 368 nm and А1%1см 261. The o-diphenols contents in the herb, collected at the phases of vegetation, flowering and fruiting was shown to be 0.298 %, 0.625 % and 0.456 %, and in the corresponding extracts - 2.31 %, 4.80 %, 3.30 %. The maximum contents of o-diphenols in the plants and the optimal time of the plant material production was found at the phase of flowering. This conclusion was confirmed by the 1H NMR and the UV data of the dried extracts. The 1H NMR spectrum has also shown that the sample of the herb with brown leaves contained the oxidized artifacts.
