Abstract:
Soluble Laminarin (L) was separated from the brown alga Laminaria saccharina (Laminariaceae L.), wich were collected in the White Sea near the islands of the archipelago Solovetsky in August 2008, by gel filtration method.
The resulting L is identified in comparison with the standard sample (soluble β-glucan from Laminaria digitata, Sigma, L9634) by infrared spectroscopy.
The content of L in the resulting product was quantified by UV spectrophotometry and amounted to 96,4% with an error of determination ± 3,5%.
The interaction of L with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) in the solid state (rubbing method) and in solution in various weight ratios was investigated with using the methods of IR and UV spectrophotometry.
The effect of L on the solubility of the ASA was founded. The solubility of ASA increases in 3 time in water when the ratio of components L-ASA is 3:1.
The quantitative ratio of components in the interaction was confirmed by IR spectroscopy. The investigation of physical mixture of L-ASA (3:1) showed the appearance of three new absorption maxima compared with the IR spectra of intact materials at the following wave numbers: 1751 cm-1 1686 cm-1 and 1019 cm-1, which confirms the presence of interaction L with the ASA.
