The results of overall and disease-free survival analysis in 238 patients with neuroendocrine tumors of the organs of abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space depending on the presence of carcinoid syndrome are represented. The prevalence of carcinoid syndrome comprised 15.6%. carcinoid syndrome did not affect life expectancy and relapse prognosis in patients with neuroendocrine tumors of the organs of abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space. Only a trend towards earlier relapse was observed in patients with this syndrome. The presence of such clinical symptom as diarrhea was a prognostically unfavorable factor. Time of the development of carcinoid syndrome also had a certain prognostic value in patients with malignant neuroendocrine tumors. Mean adrenalin, noradrenalin and dophamine excretion with daily urine was significantly higher in patients with neuroedocrine tumors of medullary substance of adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
