Abstract:
New modifications of porhyrins (hydroxylation, amination, and addition of hydrophobic fragments) are proposed and studied in order to their use as photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy (PDT). It is shown that porphyrins with hydroxyl substitutes have high quantum output of the singlet oxygen. Domains of investigated porphyrins localization in liposomes are established on the base of spectrum analysis of fluorescence decay and quantum output of 1O2. In cultures with T-lymphocytes of Jurkat line, the tetrahydroxyphenyl-porphyrin (m-THPP) is revealed which has the high quantum output of singlet oxygen and the largest penetration power. This type of porphyrins may be recommended for further studying in connection with its use for PDT
