Charge dynamics in hybrid magnetoelectric quantum nanostructures

A magnetoelectric hybrid nanostructure representing a system of the heterostructure one-dimensional electrostatic poten-tials with the effects of homogeneous and inhomogeneous magnetic fields generated by a thin ferromagnetic film deposited on the heterostructure has been theoretically dealt with in this paper. The system special feature is that along with the electrostatic potential the energy contribution of the spin-this magnetic field interaction has to be taken into account. This brings the resulting potential energy for the one–dimensional electron dynamics into the sum of the potentials whose shapes depend on the spin projection onto the movement axis (spirality). Apart from the conventional volt-ampere characteristic the selectivity parameter specified by the appropriate electron propagation factors with the spin projection designated is usable as the quantitative characteristic for charge transfer (dynamics) in the system of interest. On a selectivity factor rather than 0 the nanostructure in question can be considered as a spin filter.
