The utilization of ultra-wideband horn antennas is important in antennas measurement systems. Horn antennas are applied as instrumentation antennas in far field measurements and as probe in near field measurements. The necessity of application of ultra-wideband antennas in antennas measurements is determined also for frequency tuning by investigation of properties of antennas in wide band.
Results of numerical analysis and optimization of parameters of double-ridged horn antennas are showed in this paper. Also the simple method of designing of the antenna is suggested. Experimental and theoretical results are agreed well. The method of designing includes three steps and provides wide band with optimum geometric parameters
