The standard forms and records recommend using receiver-comparators of standard frequency and time signals transmitted over different radiochannels including satellite radionavigation system to determine relative frequency accuracy and long-term frequency instability of generators under test. But the standard design of receiver-comparators allows to use them for rough short-term frequency instability measurements.
The possibilities and techniques of enhancement of short-term frequency instability measurement accuracy are suggested using GLONASS/GPS receiver-comparator designed by the IEM «KVARZ». Thanks to the two-channel heterodyne frequency converter it is possible to obtain short-term frequency instability measurement accuracy of the generators under test.
