Problems of optimtzation of the heometric dimensions of a HF-phased antenna array with restrictions on electric characte-ristics of its directional pattern – antenna gain, the level of side and back lobes, the width of a directional pattern – antenna gain, the level of side and back lobes, the width of a directional pattern – have been discussed.
It is stated, that the only way to provide the wide bandwidth of a PAA is the irregular location of antennas, though it may cause the increase of the level of DP side lobes. At a given width of a DP and acceptable level of side lobes the weight coefficients were calculated usibn the Remez Exchange algorithm.
We used the same algorithm when extending an antenna array to modules with 2, 4, and 8 elements.
A PAA with 8 antennas located in the field of 46×3×1,5 m provides the foolwing characteristics for the 2...30 MHz band: the ADG – from 4 to 12 dB, the width of a DP – in the order of (80...20)°, the level of side lobes – near 13 dB.
