This paper presents the novel designs of 4×4 and 8×8 Butler matrices which are widely used as beam forming networks of multi-beam antenna arrays for microwave applications. The four-port and eight-port Butler matrices based on strip-lines were designed and fabricated for operation within the octave band 4 … 8 GHz. The proposed eight-port Butler matrix consists of six blocks and it shows high electrical performances that can be implemented by mass production.
