Comparative analysis of blockchain-platforms

During 2017-2018, blockchain market became in the focus of attention of many investors. According to CoinSchedule portal, the technology attracted $ 21.4 billion in funding from large corporations, venture firms and private investors in 2018 alone. In 2018 the global spending for the technology reached $ 1.5 billion ac-cording to IDC report. According to estimates, the expenses for the market of block-chain projects will increase to 88.7% ($2.9 billion).
Most blockchain-based projects are not fully decentralized, usually they are strongly integrated with the usual client-server archi-tecture. Developers use block-chain platforms, and do not create blockchain protocol from scratch. There are a huge number of plat-forms such as Ethereum, EOS, Waves, Tron, Hyperledger Fabric, etc. Most of them duplicate the functionality of each other. There is a problem in choosing a platform.Methods of system analysis allows to study and evaluate any areas. The paper presents the results of applying methods of system analysis to evaluate the blockchain platforms. We had analyzed all possible types of blockchain projects and determine criteria for each of them. Then, we had compared and evaluated them using AHP method.
We also had received the following conclusions that all platforms are currently in the testing and growth stage. Platforms perform a certain number of transactions. This creates a problem for a large data flow. In addition, platforms do not support au-tonomous smart contracts. Execution of smart contracts with data recording in block-chain in public networks requires a commission. This can lead to significant costs. Projects in which there is no need to use a public blockchain should take this into ac-count.
