The consequences and scale of changes caused by the change of cycles of development of the IWT systems are analyzed. It is shown that the new cycle of development of the IWT systems will be strongly influenced by the already started next scientific and technical revolution, the main distinctive features of which are: the rapid development of cyber-physical systems (CFS) and their introduction into the civil and military spheres of human activity; the exponential growth of the amount of information, which is briefly defined by the term «big data»; fast wireless transmission of large amounts of data via the Internet; the use of computer decision support systems (DSS) with artificial intelligence that process and structure such data according to specified criteria; the development and use of virtual and augmented reality, which are the result of the development of big data processing technologies.
