It is noted that the use of radar absorbing coatings to reduce the effective area of dispersion (EAD) of objects leads to the need for a detailed study of the features of the reflected signals from such objects. The method of calculating the EAD of a ground object with a non-ideally reflecting surface, based on integral representations of fields obtained from the Lorentz Lemma, takes into account both the presence of electrodynamic interaction between the scatterer and the border of a homogeneous half-space, and the presence of inhomogeneities on the surface of the object under study.
