Modern production is characterized by the production of a wide range of products in small batches. When using multi-functional equipment with numerical control in such conditions, the task of reducing the number of changeovers comes to the fore. The article mentions a matrix method of describing technological processes, which allows solving various optimization problems, including the one mentioned above. The technological process is proposed to be represented by a set of features, which acts as a tool and device used. Thus, the number of changeovers depends on the amount of equipment used (tools and devices).
The analysis of the modern Metalworking tool is carried out and the following is revealed:
1. Currently, there are more than 200 manufacturers of Metalworking tools.
2. Each manufacturer produces its own catalog. The directory structure is different.
3. Despite the presence of GOST, DIN and ISO standards, there is no uniform classification and coding of the tool.
Thus, when solving the problem of minimizing the number of equipment changeovers, it is necessary to unify the equipment used. The paper presents recommendations for the selection of Metalworking tools.
