Biotic potential of anthropocenosis of aeration tanks of biological wastewater treatment system

The oxidizing capacity of aerotanks determines the ecological capacity of the biomass of active sludge involved in the process of wastewater treatment, and is the main technological parameter in determining the operating conditions of sewage treatment facilities with a constant age of activated sludge. Technological parameters of aerotanks in the design of new and reconstruction of existing sewage treatment facilities are determined on the basis of the results of studies of the JSC «MosvodokanalNIIproekt» obtained by the Institute in semi-industrial conditions and in operating sewage treatment plants. Maximum oxidative power during the operation of biological wastewater treatment plants with a constant age of activated sludge is recommended to be taken up to 600 mgHPK/l.
