The article summarizes the experience of teaching pre-university mathematics in the preparatory department of the Moscow Boarding Institute (MBI) for disabled people with muscle-skeleton disorder (MSD). We have examined the peculiarities of the learning process for disabled people with MSD and presented some methodological recommendations aimed at increasing the efficiency of pre-university and university tutorial for disabled people.
In the process of training disabled people with MSD, it is necessary to take into account the specific, physiological and psychological features of this group of students.
Applicants from the preparatory department of the Moscow Boarding Institute (MBI) were characterized by rapid fatigability, slowing rate of activity, a short span of attention. Disabled people who underwent ICP were characterized by a disorder of fine motor skills (writing), speech and motor muscles. And at the same time, the preparatory department students were distinguished by purposefulness, situation understanding, ability to think logically. None of the Applicants has disordered so-called structure of intellectual activity.
Disabled people are sensitive to psychological compatibility with the teacher. Therefore, the teachers should be selected very carefully and critically. In addition to high professional knowledge, they must be united by love and compassion for sick children.
Constant contact and communication with parents of disabled people are of great importance in the learning process.
Training manuals, lecture notes and posters should be developed for each subject. Schemes, a variety of handouts to relieve the dis-abled from monotonous notes, to maximize visual perception, if possible are also very important.
When presenting new material, it is necessary to make smooth transition from the previous topic, constantly relying on the gained knowledge.
Talking about higher education, it is worth noting the importance of the so-called intra-extramural form of study.
The problem of disabled people employment should be considered from the first days of the University study.
Some parts of the report, concerning the peculiarities of the disabled people education , were heard at the international conference «Problems of the disabled people rehabilitation in modern society», held by UNESCO in the Hague.
