The aggravation of competition in the modern world economy forces producers to actively search for reserves and ways to increase the efficiency of their activities. The analysis of the practical activities of enterprises has shown that digital production is now needed to form an innovative development path, as well as the restructuring of existing production systems based on various tools and mechanisms. Taking into account the current situation, it is possible to achieve significant improvements in the results at various stages of the management of production processes by moving to digital production.
Digital production is the way to organize production based on the integrated application of highly integrated computer automation technologies, digital counterparts, digital modeling and information processing at all stages of planning, development, manufacturing, quality assurance, operation and up to utilization, that is, on all life cycle of the product. The key features of this type of production is the comprehensive exchange of information between all stages of the process, organized exclusively in digital form on the basis of modern technologies for processing, transmission and storage of information.
The advantages of digital production technologies lie in the possibility of optimizing all production processes, increasing labor produc-tivity, reducing the whole complex of costs by automating functions such as monitoring and control, the time to market new products, and empowering machines and systems with the extensive capabilities of an autonomous work. Thus, the main goal of implementing measures to introduce digital production technologies at enterprises is to increase the economic efficiency of enterprises and product quality, to shorten the terms for creating and launching new product samples, to optimize the use of available enterprise resources, mobilization reserves of production capacities, and to ensure the competitiveness of products at world markets.
The tasks of digitalization of production are the tasks of creating and implementing modern integrated information systems (special software systems) and advanced production technologies that cover all stages of the life cycle of manufactured industrial products.
At all stages of the life cycle, there are specific targets and tasks that must be addressed to achieve the goals set with maximum effi-ciency.
The article deals with the tasks that are solved by using digital production tools by the example of the following stages of the CIC: the stage of new product development (design), production preparation, planning and resource management.
