The CAE/CAD/CAM-system line constant evolution ensures the geometric 3D-models stable position in the life cycle of the product, primarily at the stage of development and research. Due to this, 3D-models are designed product representation both in its manufac-turing processes – in modeling in CAM-systems, the functioning principles, which provided by the functionality of CAE-systems, and directly the construction formed in CAD-systems. Obviously, for the design phase, the most important design information is the product construction, which displayed by the modern CAD-systems with by geometric digital 3D-model.
The 3D-model informativeness consists in providing the designed data required for the current stage of the product life cycle. The designed product construction display is the main functional of the CAD-systems. In this case, the designed product construction in-formation displayed by the 3D-model is contained directly in the basic operations that make up its structure – the 3D-model creation tree. Consequently, the 3D-model informativeness increase reduced to the laying of design information to the basic operations. This achieved through the visualization of the 3D-model creation tree structure the designed product functional structure. Used as the 3D-models formation traditional approaches, in general, do not put the main purpose of the structural correspondence between the basic operations and structural elements of the product that is the cause of «abstract» creation tree in the CAD-system.
CAD-system basic operations generalization to the level of semantic macrooperations - an unit consisting of basic operations and cor-responding to one constructive-functional element of the designed product, provides two the most important advantages:
1. Fixation and visualization of the constructive concept, the intention, laid by the designer in the process of its formation. At its core, information about the structure of the designed product, relevant in its subject area; 2. Convenience of the 3D-model formation and modification processes in the CAD-system, ensuring the semantic correctness of design solutions.
The increase in the informative value of the 3D model of the designed product, which provides detailed information on its functional structure within the framework of the CAD-system functional, allows move from operating with abstract terms to the professional language of subject area. The software implementation of the method of structural and semantic construction in the form of a software complex allows specify a class of semantically similar design decisions that differ both geometrically and structurally, but generalized in terms of their semantic (meaningful) fullness.
