We studied the influence of the drug Mexidant on the severity of H2O2-induced damage of macrophages plasma membranes. The damaged cells were detected using microfluorimetric method. It has been shown that the increase of macrophages incubation time at 37 °C was accompanied by small-scale increase of abundance of cells with damaged membranes in macrophages population. When cells incubation takes place under similar conditions but with presence of hydrogen peroxid this is accompanied by significant increase of number of cells with damaged membrane in population. The effect is more pronounced when concentration of H2O2 increase from 1 to 10 mM. Drug Mexidant reduces the damaging effect of hydrogen peroxide on the cells. Maximal protective effect was observed at concentration of 500 mkg/ml.
