A performance of evaluation of amplitude and phase of signal on aperture by means of maximum likelihood method

An estimation algorithm of amplitude and phase of signal on aperture of antenna array by means of maximum likelihood method is developed and investigated as well. The results of complex amplitude measuring on output of antennas array are used in the case of various positions of signal source and with presence of Gaussian measuring errors. The investigation of dependences of error variance of complex amplitude and phase distribution on antennas array parameters is implemented by means of statistical modeling method and analytical method as well. The good compliance the modeling result with analytical result is obtained. It is settled that the angular sector width of measuring affects substantially on variance of estimation error. Optimal value of angular spread of measuring is equal 120 degree.
