Wireless Waveform Generator Prototype to Provide Therapy to Urinary Incontinence

This paper proposes a simple wireless multi-waveform generator prototype to stimulate electrically to patients with urinary incontinence, and other urological disorders like overflow incontinence, stress incontinence, etc. This system can generate a set of different programmable bipolar and monopolar waveforms, since pulse generator systems must provide different waveforms suitable for each individual patient .This application discloses 7 distinct types of programmable waveforms. The waveform parameters can be modified by physician by a set of easy instructions. The proposed system lets long distance manipulation of the waveform generator by sending a set of codes that changes the characteristics of the waveforms even when the stimulator is implanted in the patient’s body. The waveform generator proposed can generate simple or complex waveforms depending on urinary disorder. The waveforms presented in this works can be used in other electrical-stimulations for general applications. We will show that a multi-waveform generator can be built with common electronic commercial circuits. The real challenge is to build a MEM’s interface between a multi-waveform stimulator and the nerves.
