A generalized analysis of the probabilistic models of both Gaussian and non-Gaussian radar sig-nals adequate to the changing obser-vation conditions of a wide class of radar objects is given.
The statistical characteristics of non-Gaussian radar signals are determined, the probability distri-bution density of which allows us to describe both stationary and periodically nonstationary processes. Distributions include both special cases, widely used in practice, probabilistic models of Gaussian and non-Gaussian signals.
In this case, the common core for these distributions is the Nakagami distribution, which can be used to approximate other, more complex distributions. Analytical expressions for the relationship be-tween the parameters of these distributions are established.
