Magnetic field detection using acoustic bulk waves and polycrystalline permalloy samples

Comparison of various configurations of magnetic field detectors based on shear and longitudinal bulk acoustic waves and polycrystalline permalloy (80% Ni, 20% Fe) is accomplished. Peculiarities of the configuration are examined. The full matrix of elastic modulii and density for polycrystalline permalloy is measured at room temperature.
