High-sensitive terahertz detector based on periodical graphene structure

Plasmonic rectification of terahertz (THz) radiation in spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous grating-gated graphene structure was investigated. The dependence of rectification current responsivity on structure asymmetry was studied. It is shown that the rectification current responsivity due to hybrid plasmonic modes with a spatially asymmetric field is an order of magnitude greater than the rectification current responsivity due to symmetric plasmon modes in a geometrically asymmetric structure.
