At present, retroreflector array (RA) consisting of corner cube retroreflectors (CCRs) operating due to the effect of total internal reflection are used for precise measurement of the range to one-axis oriented satellites, such as «Glonass». Existing RSs can not achieve the increasing requirements for accuracy and energy: the cross section should be  , and the accuracy up to 1 mm. The article presents an analysis of a new type of RA using a CCR with a so-called dual spot distribution of radiation intensity in far field in reflected beam. A new circular RA (CRS) consisting of such CCRs is proposed for use on «Glonass» satellites. The analysis of energy and spatial characteristics has shown that the use of CRS can increase the energy of the reflected signal by about one and a half times and improve the accuracy of the location. The new CRS does not increase the mass of the system and does not complicate its production due to the use of new methods for correcting the angular parameters of the CCR.
