In order to exclude the influence of errors in the positioning of the mechanical part of the optical system on the accuracy of the mea-surement of angular coordinates, a method for determining the direction of an object based on the application of space-time image processing recorded by a matrix laser receiver of a laser location station has been developed. It is shown that the dimensions of the common overlapping region of the two images allow us to calculate the angles of the azimuth and the location of the object. An imitation model for estimating the influence of the brightness fluctuations of the received radiation on the accuracy of determining the magnitude of the displacement of the images relative to each other is developed. Dependences of the mathematical expectation and the RMS of the magnitude of the displacement of the images relative to each other on the fluctuation level of the brightness level are obtained. The results of the work can be used to justify the requirements for advanced laser location stations.
