Algorithm for detecting and determining signals reflected from small size airborne objects (echo signals) on the water surface by a radio engineering complex

The article disclose the algorithm for detection of linear frequency modulation (LFM) signals reflected from small size airborne objects (echo signals) on the water surface. The algorithm applies few procedures based on the quasi-optimal signal processing principles. The algorithm is based on the method of convolution of the LFM signal spectra in the frequency domain, as well as using a new simulation model that allows to adapt the parameters of the local convolution window to the expected structure of the echo signal from the VO and passive interference from the water surface of various degrees of disturbance. The developed algorithm allows to find the desired signal under conditions of low signal-to-noise ratio (up to -4 dB), as well as under the influence of passive coherent interference.
