GNSS band is not convenient from the point of view of UE suppression as the radio waves of this band are prone to minor refraction against the ground surface and overcritical damping in wooden country. Therefore, to achieve a wider radius and better persistency of GNSS UE suppression, multilocational spaced radio suppression systems with several jamming transmitter units shall be applied. The antennas of the jamming transmitter units shall be installed at considerable altitudes.
The measure of effectiveness estimate for GNSS UE is a multialternative case problem, whose ways of solving are heavily based on the purpose of the radio suppression system (object or zonal covering, dimensions and limits of the covering area, etc.), specifications of the hazardous objects (altitude, low-altitude or on-ground, the radar cross-section value, movement speed, information on the motion coordinates and parameters, etc.), specifications of jamming stations and capacities of the connection and control devices. Designing of such calculation methods is a topical problem.
The author looks into two problems of estimating measure of effectiveness of radio suppression of global navigation satellite systems user equipment by intended interference: the first one is the calculation of the suppression area for the predetermined number and disposition of jamming transmitter units; the second one involves the determination of the required number and disposition of jamming transmitter stations in the predetermined suppression area.
The author offers solution methods to the specified problems and gives the examples of calculations. The solution methods are based on the decomposition of multialternative case problems on the set of interconnected structured (formalized) specific tasks with the exact solution algorithm. Structured tasks have routine character. The esteem of the fulfilment of condition of radio suppression for predetermined location of jamming station and GNSS user and for the predetermined altitude of transmission antenna of jamming station and the altitude of receiving antenna of GNSS UE was chosen as the structured calculation task. The routine problem is solved over and over again with different combinations of given data and perform the composition of the set of the solutions obtained.
The direction of the development of the offered solution methods is designing a GIS-application for the calculation of the effectiveness of suppression of GNSS UE in frequency band (1 … 2) GHz with the application of the results of designing of well-known GIS – applications used for calculation of radio lines of radio relay links and GIS – applications used for calculation of covering areas of cellular transmission.
