The main task of technical diagnostics is to determine the state of an object in order to ensure its safe functioning. The task of technical diagnostics is reduced to recognizing the state of an object, that is, assigning an object to one of the diagnostic classes, for example, to serviceable or faulty ones, etc. The solution of this problem is always connected with forecasting the state of the object for the nearest period of operation. For this, various mathematical models are used, which make it possible to obtain a forecast in the form of numerical values. In this paper, to solve the problem of technical diagnostics, the use of fuzzy logic methods is suggested, but when implementing them, the human expert must participate in determining the basis of rules, membership functions, classes and terms of input and output variables, which sometimes requires a sufficiently long process of selecting these quantities. However, in comparison with the numerical prediction, the advantages of fuzzy logic methods are the description of the state of the object using qualitative estimates and the accompaniment of the result about the state of the object with the value of the degree of truth. The efficiency of the offered methods is shown on the example of forecasting of a state of the hydrounit. It is shown that the forecast state of the hydrounit for the nearest period of operation, obtained using fuzzy logic inference, corresponds to the actual situation at the control interval.
