Models signals and clutter in multibeam radar detection unmanned aerial vehicles

The article proposes target signal models, cover target signals characteristics and noise calculation method in order to explore multi-beam radars characteristics in the mode of small-size UAVs detection during critical site security service. These radars provide high detection characteristics on the internal receive path noise and effective ground scatter interference blanking.

The article examines signals from targets with an effective reflection surface of 0,005 to 0,1 m2 and cover targets such as moisture targets and birds. The calculation method of valid signal to ground scatter ratio is proposed, requirements to dynamic range of receive path are explored.
