Method of requirements justification for receive path of multi-beam radar during detection of stealth aerial targets

The problem of detecting small air targets such as unmanned aerial vehicle makes high demands on the parameters of a multi-beam radar receiver. These requirements derived from the need to discriminate a weak target signal in a strong ground scatter. The article proposes the methods of the requirements estimate for passband and dynamic range of the receive path. It is shown that receive path pass bandwidth in a multi-beam radar during detection of small-size aerial target is de-termined by the required range resolution of the radar and must exceed the probing signal spectrum width by 30%...40%. The repetition frequency, FADC for undistorted signal transmission should exceed the analog receive path bandwidth not less than 10%...20% in order to in order to achieve the potential detection characteristics. The receive path dynamic range must reach 90dB…120dB for achievement of potential characteristics of small-size targets detection in the full range. The ADC capability required for undistorted signal transmission does not exceed NADC = 16.
