Study of elastocaloric effect in Ti<sub>2</sub>NiCu melt spun ribbons for a solid-state cooling

This paper is devoted to the experimental study of the elastocaloric effect (ECE) in melt spun ribbon Ti2NiCu alloy at the periodic action of the tensile force. The maximum value of ECE observed at an initial temperature of 52 °C, elongation of 1,5% and a frequency of 0.2 Hz cycles was found to be 7,5 oC. With increasing frequency from 0.2 Hz to 4 Hz the ECE falls in magnitude. The specific power density of the sample was estimated.
