Experimental studies of the wide-сut holographic subsurface radar model

The article presents the results of experimental studies of the feasibility of the wide-cut holographic radar. The experiments were conducted with the use of experimental setup, which was a physical model of the radar. The basis of the experimental setup were the quadrature transmitter and receiver of the holographic radar RASCAN. The transmitter and the receiver were made as separate antenna units. The antenna unit was a segment of a circular waveguide. The transmitter and the receiver were mounted directly on the outer surface of the waveguide. A reference signal from the transmitter to the receiver was transferred through a flexible coaxial cable. Multistatic microwave hologram was registered by recording the receiver signal while changing the relative position of the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter and receiver were set according to the stencil drawn on the investigated surface. As the target a copper wire with a diameter of one millimeter was used. The match between the experimental and the mathematical modeling results was shown.
