Amplification features of 3-frequency balanced signal in M-type TWT

The article provides the results of numerical modeling of amplification process in M-type traveling-wave tube (TWT) for a multifrequency signal. The multifrequency signal is a superposition of three monochromatic waves with closely spaced frequencies laying within one bandwidth of the slow-wave structure. It has been demonstrated that during variation of input power of central frequency signal a number of effects such us width narrowing of output signal spectrum, suppression of some of combination frequencies in the output signal spectrum, leveling of power levels of combination components of the output signal spectrum of the instrument may be observed.
