Development of the theory and technology of airborne antennas

This presents an overview of researches and designs, which have been recently performed by the team of Antennae Scientific School at Radioelectronics faculty of Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University). Comprehensive comparison of different types of airborne X band AESA radiating elements is provided. Radio frequency periodic composite structures are considered which promise airborne antenna benefits and antenna scattering` control. Current state of researches of multiband array antennas and precision di-rection finding with phased arrays are set out. Advances in receiving antennas for high precision positioning with the Global Navigation Satellite Systems are presented. Experimental study of drones` scattered field is discussed.
