Equivalent surface impedance of a slot impedance load based on the open end of a parallel-plate waveguide

In the article the mathematical model of a slot impedance load based on the open end of parallel-plate waveguide is considered in order to determine the equivalent surface impedance. The solution is obtained by the integral equation method and calculated by the Krylov–Bogolyubov method. Numerical results are obtained as equivalent surface impedance dependencies on the aperture size, strip conductor size in the aperture and on the plane wave incidence angle. It’s shown that complex values of equivalent surface impedance can be implemented by using this structure. It has been specified that in the H-polarization case reactive component of the impedance is capacitive, and the equivalent surface impedance magnitude can be adjusted by changing aperture size as well as conducting strip width in the aperture.
