Development of the receiving THz range structure for the APEX radio telescope

The investigation of superconducting receiver in terahertz frequency range of 0,7–1,1 THz has been performed. To determine the electrical parameters of the structure we compared the experimentally measured characteristics of the receiver with the numerical simulation results of a superconducting receiving element (superconductor-insulator-superconductor (SIS) transition NbTiN-Nb-AlN-NbN). Measurements were made for four the receiving element versions, a method of complete 3d modeling superconducting structures to determine the specific capacity for the using SIS junctions (Csp = 80 fF/mkm2).
