Analysis of subnanosecond pulse generator based on step recovery diode

The analysis of the ultrashort pulse signals generator based on a recovery diode is considered in the article. It is shown that the ge-nerator circuit design features must be taken in to account in the calculations of the output voltage, due to usage of an inductive energy storage. The paper examines in details the various phases of work of SRD in the circuits of sub-nanosecond pulses generators. The detailed consideration of all diodes work stages is done. The calculation of the current through the diode at each stage is done, dependence of ultrashort pulse waveform on circuit elements and step recovery diodes parameters are obtained. This expressions include dependence on circuit elements and step recovery diodes parameters. It is shown that the results obtained by calculations are in good agreement with the experimental data.
