Emission properties of nanocrystalline graphite exposed to laser radiation

An effect of pulsed laser radiation in the near-infrared region with 120 ns and 4 ns pulses on the emission properties of the nanocrystalline graphite films (NCG) is studied. Laser power density values at which morphology, structure and emission characteristics of NCG change are determined. The relationship of these changes during thermal annealing of NCG films in the air is shown. The minimum value of the laser power density at which the laser scanning of NCG film does not cause electrons field-emission is established. This allows creating NCG films with desired emission characteristics.
