The article is dedicated to study of influence of the geometry and parameters of coupled transmission lines on the technical features of broadband measuring and quadrature (three-decibel) coaxial directed couplers, working within the range of frequencies till 26–40 GHz. The semigraphical method of the optimum designing of multisectional measuring couplers in the centimetric wave band has been used for calculation of diaphragmatic coupled transmission lines with the rectangular cross-section which are applicable for making ultra wideband directed couplers. The engineer design procedure of multisectional couplers using the sections with strong electromagnetic relationship has been designed for calculation of ultra wideband quadrature couplers. The theoretical and experimental studies carried out by the authors have allowed to create the range of ultra wideband measuring and quadrature coaxial directed couplers, meeting modern requirements. There are brought the technical features of domestic ultra wideband coaxial directed couplers. Practical value of this work is concluded in the issue of recommendations for the selection of the geometric sizes of sections of the diaphragmatic coupled transmission lines and parameters of the section dielectric filling.
