Radiation source angular coordinate evaluation on a background of interference with an adaptation of few-element antenna array spatial structure

The article discusses a radiation source angular coordinate estimation on a background of spatially correlated interference. In addition, an optimization of few-element antenna array spatial structure is applied for the purpose of interference immunity. The use of this approach involves the adaptive formation of estimates both for angular coordinates of the radiation source and the spatial structure of the array in accordance with interference environment. The synthesis of spatial structure adaptation algorithm using serial data samples obtained by different parameters of the array spatial structure is carried out. The appropriate mathematical expressions for the algorithm of maximum likelihood ratio for each sample and the quadratic approximation algorithm for the entire set of samples are given. The lower bound of angular coordinate estimation variance is calculated by using the Cramér-Rao inequality in case of different spatial structure adaptation conditions.
