The use of iterative procedures for the electrodynamic analysis of metamaterials

We considered a rigorous method of electrodynamic analysis of metastructure consisting of a finite number of elements, based upon the classical iterative methods applied to a two-level system of linear algebraic equations (SLAE). The method is supplemented by algorithms for the calculation of the SLAE matrix, according to which the vector of the essential elements is aligned to the matrix. We estimated the effectiveness of the algorithms for two-dimensional metastructures with a rectangular grid that consist of axisymmetric elements or similarly oriented asymmetric elements. Formulas for calculation of SLAE elements in case of metastructure consisting of thin-wired radiators are shown. Having taken as an example a structure consisting of thin-wired open rings we showed that in the absence of conductive connections or strong connections across the field the method has a high efficiency.
