Structures and characteristics of the axisymmetric wide-range antennas of VHF-UHF antenna arrays for direction-finding

This article analyzes the structures of axisymmetric cylindrical and biconical antennas, characterizing by high identity, stability and repeatability of the characteristics in the frequency range with the overlap factor of at least 4…5 and enabling the technical implementation of direction-finding antenna arrays of very high and ultrahigh frequency ranges (VHF-UHF). The frequency dependencies of the input resistances, elevation patterns and effective lengths of the cylindrical and biconical antennas with different electrodynamic size have been given. The structures and characteristics of the wide-range match balun devices, made through the use of baluns lines (Rutroff transformers) have been considered. The research results of matching quality of cylindrical and biconical axisymmetric antenna of VHF-UHF ranges using balancing transformers on the lines. The variants of the technical implementation of wide-range cylindrical and biconical antennas with balancing transformers on the lines have been considered with different restrictions on the weight and dimensions of direction-finding antenna arrays of VHF-UHF ranges.
