Estimation of DDS digital and analog non-linearities impact on LO spectrum in Doppler offsets band

This paper introduces non-linear effects research in digital and analog DDS section of C-band hybrid frequency synthesizer. The main goal is to enhance synthesizer output signal spectrum in Doppler offsets frequency band. The work contains estimation results of amplitude/phase quantization as well as DAC non-linearities impact on output frequency synthesizer spectrum. DDS Digital spectrum computation results shows that amplitude/phase quantization errors are negligeable in total spurs level. DAC non-linearities impact estimation results show that resulting harmonics have a considerable impact on total spurs level. These results also show the demand to existing synthesizer scheme correction. Frequency correction methods, new synthesizer scheme and it’s parameters estimation are also presented in paper.
