Modeling of radar reflection and radio emission bordering earth media using the metod of forced opposing waves

The multimode propagation mechanism in bordering environments was considered. A rigorous expressions backscatter coefficients in the bordering homogeneous media are given. The physical mechanisms of backscatter, taking into account the forced excitation of counter propagating waves. The connection between the backscatter coefficient and brightness temperature was established. A comparison of theoretical and experimental angular dependence of backscatter and brightness temperature of real soil and aquatic environments. Found good agreement between the data.
