The range of the radar is its most important tactical option, knowledge of which is necessary at all stages of the development and use of the station. In this paper we will discuss the main approaches to building detection zones for radar operating in the centimeter and decimeter in the line of sight. Particular attention is paid to the conditions of radio wave reflection from the actual sea surface, as well as software and algorithmic solution of the problem of forecasting and building zones detection of air and surface targets for different wavelengths and polarization directions with regard to the shape of the radar antenna Nam.
The basis of the calculation of the detection range is the classical equation of range radar and the attenuation function. Concrete expression of the attenuation function V is determined by the used model propagation over the sea surface. The authors construct a model for detection zones using 4 radiation model, adjusted by E.A. Shtager [1, p.77], most fully takes into account the effects of radio wave propagation in the line of sight. The following are the expressions for calculating the coefficients of the specular and diffuse reflection ρs, ρd and grazing angles required for the calculation of the attenuation function.
The detection area is some limited portion of the space in which each point is defined or power of the received radar signal or calculated probability of correct detection and false alarm. For predicting detection zones established a model that allows for a selected portion of the space based on the parameters of the medium, as well as the parameters of the radar-purpose calculate either the power of the received signal Pпр, or the probability of correct detection and false alarm. Also provides an algorithm for calculating areas and screenshots of the developed software.
Thus the main results of the work are the prediction algorithm of detection, which solved applied problems of calculating the attenuation function for real sea surface with the sphericity of the earth, and developed on the basis of its software, allowing to make the construction of zones of detection of air and surface targets in «dB» and the probability of detection zones based on atmospheric conditions, the sea surface, and also DR and other parameters of the radar-target.
