The article considers the development of the mathematical apparatus describing information processing in the optic tract of the cerebral cortex and creation with the help of a neural model of the optic tract of the cortex (the visual areas the optic cortical I, II, III, IV of the cerebral cortex). Describes some of the mathematical aspects of cortical classifier. A concept of the use of columnar structure of the cerebral cortex for constructing artificial neural cortex, can effectively solve problem of recognition and clustering of the images. The considered concept allowed to construct a mathematical model of biological recognition processes. Estimates are obtained for performance and reliability of the constructed model of neural cortex as a result of software experiments.
